He looked down. His hands were becoming pixelated, his edges sharpening into polygons.
"It’s just a creepypasta," Leo whispered to the empty room. DOWNLOAD FILE – ESCAPE THE AYUWOKI.ISO
He didn't want to turn around. He didn't want to see if the ISO had brought the game into the world, or if it had pulled him into the file. He reached for the power button, but his hand passed through the plastic as if it were smoke. He looked down
There was no intro cinematic. He was simply there —first-person view, standing in a hallway that looked remarkably like his own apartment building, rendered in hyper-realistic, grimy detail. The only light came from a flickering fluorescent bulb at the far end. Then, the sound started. Hee-hee. He didn't want to turn around
Suddenly, the power in the apartment snapped off. The only thing glowing was the monitor, powered by some impossible residual energy. The game character was gone. The screen now showed a live feed of Leo’s own bedroom. On the screen, a shadow moved behind Leo’s chair.
The monitor went black. The room was empty. On the desk, the mouse moved once, clicking a single button:
