The permanent fusion is broken, but Elara remains "between worlds." She becomes the first of a new species—neither fully human nor purely nature—a guardian of the Neo-Amazonian frontier.

: While escaping an Omni-Gen extraction squad, Elara is forced into a desperate, unplanned fusion with a rare, bioluminescent jaguar-orchid.
