Bhajans for Sathya Sai Baba

Indian devotional songs in western music notation

What Bhajans can you find here
This website is dedicated to Bhajans sung in the presence of Sathya Sai Baba in His ashrams in South India and in Sai centres around the world.

What's unique about this website
On this website you can learn the Bhajans by the means of audio & music notation & translation on one page per Bhajan.

How do Indian Bhajans come to Switzerland
Some Swiss Sai devotees and musicians dedicate themselves to singing, playing and teaching these Bhajans. For this purpose they have edited books with the transcription from original Indian audio sources of 3 x 108 Bhajans (324 Bhajans) in western music notation.

Why do we sing Bhajans
In 1968 Sathya Sai Baba said: "Sing aloud the glory of God and charge the atmosphere with divine adoration; the clouds will pour the sanctity through rain on the fields; the crops will feed on it and purify and fortify the food; the food will induce divine urges in man. This is the chain of progress. This is the reason why I insist on group singing of the names of the Lord."

Hachiko - Il Tuo Migliore Amico [1080p] (2009) <UHD 2024>

Because Akitas are known for their independent and sometimes stubborn nature, the production employed several unique techniques to capture the film's emotional depth:

: Actors usually avoid working with animals due to their unpredictability, but Richard Gere spent significant time bonding with the dogs before filming began. He noted that Akitas are "discerning" and "particular," making a connection only if they genuinely like the person.

: In 2012, a bronze statue of Hachiko was unveiled at the Woonsocket Depot Square in Rhode Island, the primary filming location for the train station scenes. It is an exact replica of the famous statue found at Shibuya Station in Japan.

: To make the dogs look visibly older in the film's later years, the makeup department used a safe dulling powder on their fur to simulate graying. They also attached tiny, harmless weights to the dogs' ears to make them appear to droop with age.

A notable production feature of (2009) is the use of three different Akita dogs —named Chico, Layla, and Forrest—to portray Hachiko at various stages of his life .

: Trainers spent months preparing the dogs to respond to subtle hand signals rather than verbal commands. This allowed the director to film quiet, emotional scenes without the trainers' voices disrupting the solemn atmosphere on set.
