The story follows Kozhummal Rajeevan (Kunchacko Boban), a reformed petty thief living a quiet life with his girlfriend, Devi. His past comes back to haunt him when an innocent attempt to avoid a pothole leads to a series of mishaps, ultimately landing him in an MLA's compound at midnight where he is bitten by dogs. Misconstrued as an attempted robbery, Rajeevan decides to fight the system from within the courtroom.

Set in North Kerala, the film is deeply rooted in local culture, featuring specific dialects and political symbolism.

The film uses "deadpan humor" to highlight normalized corruption and the struggles of the common man in the Indian judicial system.
